France Télécom is the national supplier of telephone lines: France Télécom website  

The France Télécom website is entirely in French but very comprehensive, explaining how to get connected (landline, Internet and mobile), accessories and services available, paying bills and what to do if the service is not working.

Emergency and Important Numbers: Electricity

EDF (Electricité de France) is the national electricity provider to all of France. The English-language website has comprehensive information for: 

• Domestic residential electricity: EDF in English
• Business services: EDF in English

A service breakdown call centre is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week (24/7).  A "within 2 hours" emergency service is available by subscription to business customers.

• To reach the appropriate local number call the emergency number on the top right corner of the invoice for the property or
• Using EDF website, enter the postal code or commune name in the box on the right. A pop-up window reveals the telephone number: Click here 

Emergency and Important Numbers: Gas

GrDF (Gaz de France) is the national supplier of domestic gas to home in France. The English-language website has information relevant to private residential customers and business people.

• Domestic residential gas: GrDF in English

Gas emergency service available 24/7.

• To find the relevant local emergency number to call: Click here and enter the name or postal code of the property's commune and click "valider"

Emergency: Water

• To find the relevant local service centre: Click here ( search using the "Nous contacter" option at the bottom of the page, or enter name and client contract number)

Lyonnaise des Eaux and SOBEP (Société Béarnaise des Eaux Potables) also provides water for some parts of Aquitaine. The companies' contact numbers differ from comune to comune.
